Xbox has officially unveiled the Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller, confirming details after a leak earlier this week. The controller is scheduled to launch on September 30, priced at $89.99 / £84.99, ahead of the game's official release on October 6.
Designed around the lore of Emergence Day, the controller features:
-
3D-Molded Terrain Effects: Laser-etched cracked asphalt detailing with red, glowing fractures that expose the iconic Crimson Omen beneath.
-
Custom Accents: Blacked-out ABXY buttons paired with a transparent red X button, matching red triggers, and a transparent D-pad.
-
Lore References: A dark silver metallic COG tag on the battery door engraved with the phrase "Never Fight Alone", accompanied by textured rear grips.
Customization via Xbox Design Lab
Alongside the standalone limited-edition pad, Xbox is bringing an exclusive Gears of War: E-Day artwork option to the Xbox Design Lab on September 30.
Illustrated by UK heavy metal artist Luke Preece—known for his work with Metallica, Slipknot, and Ozzy Osbourne—the top case design features two crossed Chainsaw Lancers surrounded by skulls. Players using the Design Lab will be able to customize their build further with metallic triggers, rubberized grips, and personalized engravings.
Pre-orders for the limited edition controller are live now on the official Xbox online store.
