Rockstar Games has announced that the next major preview of Grand Theft Auto VI will premiere exclusively on Netflix before reaching other platforms later this month.
Titled Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, the showcase airs on Netflix on August 27 at 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 PM ET / 8:00 PM BST. Players looking to watch on public channels can catch it six hours later on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and official website at 6:00 PM PT / 9:00 PM ET / 2:00 AM BST (Aug 28).
While neither Rockstar nor Netflix has revealed the runtime or specific contents of the presentation, the event marks a major shift in how the developer unveils its titles.
“Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right,” said Brandon Riegg, Netflix VP of Nonfiction Series. “The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto VI is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the story with Netflix members first.”
To date, Rockstar has released two cinematic trailers—one in December 2023 and a second in May 2025—making this upcoming showcase the first potential look at actual gameplay.
Pre-orders opened in June ahead of the game's November release. The Standard Edition retails for $80 USD, while the Ultimate Edition—offering various in-game bonus rewards—costs $100 USD (with standard buyers able to upgrade at any time). Notably, physical copies will follow the industry's shift away from optical media, shipping as a boxed digital download code rather than a disc.
Set in the state of Leonida, the story follows protagonists Jason and Lucia as a botched heist drags them into a statewide conspiracy across Vice City.

Rockstar Games confirmed that the game is being built for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, with improved visuals, new mechanics, and environments designed around the storybook theme.
